Since it is often best that website content be limited in length, you may want to add additional details by adding documents for download.
Note that PDF is the best/preferred format for linking online documents as they can be viewed in most web browsers without the need for another program.
Adding New Documents and Linking to Text
1) Log into your website and navigate to the page and content were you would like to add a document for download.
2) Add and/or select the text you would like to link to the document.
3) For most pages click on the Document Manager button in the editing menu.
For Category pages click the Hyperlink Manager button in the editing menu.
Then click the Document Manager button to the right of the URL field.
4) Once the window opens you can select and existing document, or upload a new one.
If selecting an existing document to link skip to step #8. If not proceed to the step below.
5)To upload a new document click on the Upload button.
6) Select the file you want to upload.
7) Once the file is selected, click Upload.
Note: if you are replacing an existing file that uses the same file name make sure to select the "Overwrite if file exists" checkbox.
8) Select the document from the document list. In the right hand panel you should see the link details.
Link Text is the text/copy on the page that you are linking the document to.
Target should be New Window, which will ensure that the document opens in a new window or tab so that the visitor is not directed away from your website.
Note: If the Link Text box is empty after upload you may need to close the window and then repeat steps one and two.
9) Click the Insert button in the bottom right-hand corner.
10) Click the Save button in the upper right-hand corner the page editing window to save the changes.
10) Logout and test the link to ensure it is working properly.
